Gatlinburg is the classic Smoky Mountains basecamp - walkable parkway, aerial chairlift, moonshine tastings, and direct access to Great Smoky Mountains National Park just past the welcome sign. Cabins tucked into the hills give you a porch with a view and a hot tub under the stars.

Ober Gatlinburg runs year-round (skiing in winter, alpine slides in summer), Ripley's draws the kids, and the Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail is one of the best scenic drives in the East.
